In depth

Verdict

Paradise Isle is selected in the opener, with Cormorant Wharf, Scotty's Future and Seattle Robber closely matched and fancied to provide the selection with the most to think about. Seattle Robber has held his form well in low-grade handicaps and deserves a change of fortune. He is 5lb better off with Cormorant Wharf from their encounter at Bath 11 days ago and can make a bold bid to reverse the form. Cormorant Wharf, on the other hand, was not winning out of turn on that occasion and is still feasibly well treated off his current rating. He is likely to be a leading player again. However, Paradise Isle has stronger form to her name and looks the main hope of Kevin Ryan' duo in the field (he also sends out Petrula.) The five-year-old mare is a tough cookie on her day and, having gone well fresh in the past, she looks to have been found a good starting point for her season.
