In depth

Verdict

Mr Napper Tandy probably has the best form among those to have raced and is entitled to be thereabouts again having looked a shade unlucky at Newbury under similar conditions on his debut but Mick Channon's colt is unlikely to represent much in the way of value and a chance is taken with the newcomer Arabian Gulf, who is preferred to Maraca. The last mentioned, a son of Danehill Dancer who should go on the ground, looks the pick of John Gosden's two runners ahead of Tirade and has to be respected first time out. The John Hills-trained Limbo King has a pedigree that suggests that he should go on the ground but the yard is hardly known for their success with first time out juveniles, while Henry Cecil's Walking Talking may need more time and a longer trip to be seen at his best. Arabian Gulf, a son of Sadler's Wells out of the decent mare Wince, makes plenty of appeal on pedigree though and he looks a likely type on pedigree so may be worth chancing on his debut.
