In depth

Verdict

A tough race to call here for punters and as usual in these types of events the market will be very informative but the principals look to be Victory Spirit, The King And I and Popolo and the vote is given to Victory Spirit. The selection ran well on his debut before disappointing last time out but now he returns to his more favoured conditions and he is taken to bounce back to form. The King And I rates the main danger as he was a fair third on his debut behind Grand Prix and is sure to improve and with the longer trip also in his favour he should be watched in the market. Popolo is another that showed a modicum of ability on his debut but he may be seen to better effect over a longer trip in time. Of the remainder, Tifernati is a well-bred Dansili colt, half-brother to winners on the Flat and over hurdles ands should be noted in the market but for the winner we return to Victory Spirit who is taken to put his experience to good use.
