In depth

Verdict

A competitive sprint featuring a number of progressive three-year-olds but Titinius can continue Luca Cumani's fine recent form at the main expense of Masaader, Awarding, Vigorous and Willhewiz. The selection looked a colt to follow after making a winning seasonal reappearance over this trip in a Nottingham maiden earlier this month. The son of Titus Livius beat a useful yardstick at Colwick Park and the form has been boosted as the well regarded runner-up went one better in similar company last weekend so Titinius looks fairly treated on a mark of just 82 on his handicap debut. Romany Nights was disappointing last time but had previously beaten Masaader in to second at Newbury and there wouldn't be much between the pair on the revised terms. Awarding has run creditably in defeat in tough sprint handicaps this term and put up a particularly good effort when fourth behind Bonus at Lingfield last time in which the hat-trick seeking Vigorous finished behind while Willhewiz appears to be coming to hand judged on his narrow defeat last time and can't be ruled out in a wide open affair.
