In depth

Verdict

A tough race to call here for punters with very little between many of the leading lights but the principals look to be Westfield Dancer Fort Ord and Nanard and the narrow nomination is given to Fort Ord. The selection was going well until badly hampered last time out and could not recover. He returns to the fray off the same mark here and with the step up in trip also looking to be in his favour he looks the one to be on.Westfield Dancer rates the main danger as he beat Earcomesannie last time out with a little in hand but this looks more competitive and he looks vulnerable under his penalty. Nanard has dropped to a handy mark and could improve for the fitting of first time tongue tie and a visor so should be watched in the market. Merry Storm was second behind Incas last time and is another with place claims but all his best form is with more cut in the ground. Of the remainder Ashgreen could go well at a price but he may need the run after a 168 day break and for the winner we return to Fort Ord.
