In depth

Verdict

A very competitive apprentice handicap completes the card and we will take a chance on Michaels Pride, with Senor Eduardo and Must Be Magic just two of many dangers. Mark Johnston's three-year-old only victory to date came in a banded contest at Leicester. But he did win it in good style and wasn't disgraced next time out when a close up fourth behind Best Game in a better event at Musselburgh. He has the assistance of a very capable youngster and looks the one to beat. Senor Eduardo has to shoulder top-weight here but has put in some solid displays in defeat this season to be given every chance here. Meanwhile Must Be Magic may be the oldest in the field but he still retains enough ability to pose a few problems for our selection. Humdinger and Orion Bell are both capable of taking a hand in the finish, but Michaels Pride appears to have the more solid form credentials and just gets the verdict.
