In depth

Verdict

Deeper In Debt, Barons Spy and Libre all form the shortlist but it is impossible to get away from the claims of Deeper In Debt. The selection bounced back to form at Windsor and should be up to this assignment in spite of a punitive penalty for that success. Barons Spy is plenty exposed although Richard Price's charge ran a fair race in defeat at Newmarket. He is yet to conclusively prove that he handles a mile on the turf so this presents questions in itself. Libre invariably runs well here although his backers have endured lean times of late. El Ray Royale has been trained over a variety of trips and Micky Hammond (who's yard are in fair form) attempts to go back to a mile for that elusive success. Adobe is a likeable enough sort although he makes little appeal outside of claimers and sellers these days. Deeper In Debt looks difficult to oppose and we shall seek not to.
