      Verdict

Tiger Dream is taken to open his account at the expense of Mon Plaisir, Patkai and newcomer Etruscan. Tiger Dream is out to get the losses back after his very narrow defeat at Redcar a fortnight ago. Kevin Ryan's juvenile was sent off as favourite that day on the strength of an encouraging debut at Doncaster, but he hung badly and was worried out of it right on the line. An entry in the Racing Post Trophy was too ambitious, but he should have no difficulty making amends here, with the step back up in trip to help. Mon Plaisir also left the money in the bookies' satchels when fourth to Billion Dollar Kid at Folkestone, and should improve, but he may find conditions too fast. Patkai takes an immediate drop in grade after finishing sixth on his Sandown bow. Related to the likes of Islington, Greek Well and Hellenic on the dam's side, he holds an entry in next year's Vodafone Derby, and should be followed when upped in trip. Etruscan makes his debut for Godolphin, and he too is one to note over further in time on breeding, but for now we are happy to side with Tiger Dream who should be a lot sharper.
