Verdict

Saboteur has to rate highly for a yard that has won three of the last seven runnings of this maiden and sets a fair standard but it may be worth taking a chance with READYMADE whilst Countess Comet could be an each-way play. Saboteur has an official mark of 84 following some decent performances whilst his latest run was marginally better than the bare form suggests as he was drawn on the wrong side at Newmarket. He is rated 3lbs higher than Mawaddah, who has improved with each start and made the frame over course and distance a week ago. That form looks solid enough and he has claims of finishing in the money again. Home Advantage is one to watch with an eye to the future and of more interest for today are Sadler's Mark, Idealism and Countess Comet. Tom Tate's colt has a Racing Post Trophy entry and looks the part on paper as does John Gosden's son of Motivator whilst Ralph Beckett had a couple of newcomers run really well at the last meeting which brings Countess Comet into calculations. Shelfah will appreciate stepping up in trip but appears to have a bit to find so preference is for Readymade, who made his debut in a maiden that his yard had dominated in recent years. He failed to land a blow behind an impressive winner but should improve for the experience and longer trip and make his mark before too long.
