In depth

Verdict

MAINSAIL ATLANTIC sets the form standard after showing satisfying progress in three starts this term. Most recently, he stayed on in solid fashion to take third spot in a Yarmouth maiden when seemingly unfancied and has a strong claim here under similar conditions. More can be expected from the likes of Midnight Meeting, Blizzard and Yayoon in time but Gates Pass rates the main danger to the selection. He made quite an eyecatcher of a debut when looking exceptionally green on the Lingfield all-weather, staying on nicely up the home straight after charting an erratic course round the home turn. He should improve considerably for that introduction.
