In depth

Verdict

Japanese superstar NAKAYAMA FESTA finished more than two lengths ahead of Sarafina when just touched off by Workforce in last year's Arc. He was clearly over the top when disappointing in the Japan Cup in November and hasn't been seen since but the five-year-old has gone well fresh in the past and can make a winning reappearance here en route to another tilt at October's big prize. Sarafina is a smart performer in her own right and was an easy winner at Saint-Cloud on her latest start, while St Nicholas Abbey has gone a long way towards redeeming his reputation this year. Hiruno D'Amour is no mug and can also play a part.
