      Verdict

      Prohibit won last year's renewal for Robert Cowell and the trainer has a really strong hand this time around. Monsieur Joe beat three of the home team, August Rush, Sea Trial and Flash Mash, at Deauville last month and looks sure to be in the mix on that form but he ran below par at York last time behind stablemate SPIRIT QUARTZ. The latter found only Ortensia too good in the Nunthorpe and a repeat will be good enough to land this and probably book himself a place in next month's Prix de l'Abbaye. Inxile won over C&D last year and may figure while the veteran Marchand D'Or is never easily dismissed but Stepper Point arrives out of sorts.
