In depth

Verdict

Recovery Man has disappointed more than once since winning a Galway bumper last summer but appears to have been found a perfect opportunity to break his maiden tag over hurdles by his shrewd handler. Although his bumper win was achieved with an ease in the ground, a quick surface is what he appears most effective on and his latest effort behind Master Gladiator reads well. The winner justified odds on favouritism subsequently and is a decent sort. Lucinda Russell's decision to allow Corkage take his chance in last seasons Cheltenham bumper indicates he is a horse of some promise. The trip should not prove a problem however, his lack of experience would be the concern on his hurdling debut. Hi Density landed a very ordinary contest over the course last time out. All his racing to then had been in testing conditions. It is extremely difficult to make out what he achieved last time although he is a horse open to plenty of improvement. Stylish Shot was stuck on well behind Mr Jack Daniels last time out. He had shown some promise in early season juvenile hurdles for Jessica Harrington over in Ireland last season but it is hard to see him beating the three previously mentioned. Of the remainder support for Estuary House would be significant but is highly unlikely given the type of contest and he will be seen to better effect in handicaps. Recovery Man is given the nod to land the opener.
