Verdict

THE COCKNEY MACKEM lacks experience but he can still make a winning debut. Although related to sprinters, this son of Milan is out of a half-sister to the high-class stayer Vinnie Roe so he should have no problems with this trip. His yard currently has a five from seven record in bumpers at the track in recent years and he looks worth chancing. Dr Flynn won well at Kelso in March and he is entitled to plenty of respect, despite his penalty, and also despite the third and fourth home running poor races since. Orraloon shaped with promise at the same track in May, whilst Monroe Park has been off for almost a year. He ran in some good bumpers over in his native Ireland and is respected here now fitted with a tongue-tie and ridden by Paul Carberry.
