In depth

Verdict

Our short list for the Duke Of Atholl contains Catch The Perk, Baodai and Bafana Boy, with the selection being Catch The Perk. Tribal Venture has plenty of placed efforts from around today's mark to his name and, with conditions suiting, can go well. Carndale has a revised winning mark from Kilbeggan to contend with, and Waynesworld and Its Crucial have it to prove from a winning point of view from their revised ratings. Given that Catch The Perk won this race last year from a three-pounds higher mark then he has to be given every chance, while Bafana Boy has looked highly promising in his chasing career thus far and is not ruled out racing for the first time for Howard Johnson. The Philip Hobbs-trained Baodai is more than capable of running well from his current mark and his rider takes off seven pounds, while Caipiroska was only just touched off at Market Rasen last time and, even though he has been raised nine pounds for that effort, has scope for further improvement. Finally, Harlov has proven that he is capable of winning from his current mark but he is getting no younger, and for the selection, we return to Catch The Perk.
