Verdict

Smoking Jacket won after a break at Stratford in October but was beaten when falling at Newbury in December and is possibly still a few pounds too high. SPICULAS only found the battle-hardened Halcyon Days too strong on his chasing bow at Carlisle. He’s been left on the same mark and can go one better as he holds Ryalex on that run and Newcastle winner Chain Of Beacons was unable to cope with the extra weight at Kelso next time. Wot A Shot is a regular here but has only won once in nine previous visits.
