As De Pique was second over 3m here on Wednesday and was placed over a similar trip at Fairyhouse last season but it might be asking a lot of a 13-year-old to bounce back quickly. Petite Power was only beaten half-a-length at Lingfield in February but is still 10lb higher than his last winning mark. Nigel Twiston-Davies never runs anything here without good reason and BALLYMALIN should have the class to defy top weight. He showed that staying was his game when third in the Midland National at Uttoxeter last month and he’s been dropped 2lb since. Lowanbehold won over 4m at Hexham earlier in the season and again showed his liking for the mud when scoring at Kelso on his latest start. He can’t be ignored, despite a penalty, as he gets on well with Tom Wilmott. Kings Eclipse looks a dour stayer but last year’s winner Boric is 13lb higher and was pulled up when last seen in the Eider at Newcastle.
