Verdict

Charlie Longsdon won this last year and SIMPLY THE WEST should repeat the process. A winner between the flags, he gained an easy victory over timber at Bangor before finding Cheltenham too tough though he was in contention until the second last. Irish import Golan Dancer ran well enough here last time to suggest he can give the selection a run though his best form has come on much more testing ground. Blue Beat attempted to make all over 2m2f at Fontwell but faded from the last so still has plenty to prove over this longer trip. Ginny's Tonic makes her debut over timber and her dam produced a winning jumper with her first foal.
