In depth

Verdict

Martin Pipe's Tucacas looks to face a straightforward task and is given a confident vote to resume winning ways with In The Stars preferred over stablemate Kingsfold Freddie for the forecast spot. The selection was useful over hurdles and looks to be of a similar ability over the larger obstacles judged by wins at Exeter and Wincanton. Slightly disappointing when fifth in a handicap at Cheltenham in January, Tucasas has been given a break since and, provided that he reproduces his usual level of form, should be too good for his rivals. In The Stars ran with credit on his chase debut in the handicap won by Inigo Jones at Hereford last month and is marginally preferred to another Paul Webber inmate Kingsfold Freddie, who has failed to complete in his last two starts, for the forecast spot. L'Etang Bleu, who has shown little form of note recently, is probably the best of the remainder but granted a clear round, Tucasas should win.
