Verdict

The market is always key in such contests and that looks to be especially the case here with a number of stables with good bumper records on show. The formbook says that MIXOLOGIST is the one to beat after a pleasing first effort here behind Hannibal The Great when backed in to favouritism. That would suggest he's well thought of and he sets the standard at this stage. Megzzams Boy was also the subject of fair support on debut when a well-beaten seventh behind Westward Point so it would come as no surprise to see the Longsdon charge improve notably on that initial effort. Days Gone By, Viva Steve and Fountains Mary all represent yards capable of readying one first time up in this sphere and all should be carefully noted in the market.
