Verdict

General Claremont won well last time and Bush Park is also worthy of plenty of respect, but we will take a chance on Maidstone Monument. The selection was pulled up last time but had previously won well on this track with General Claremont well down the field. Although he has been pulled up since in a race won by Around Before at Huntingdon, his previous success makes him the one to beat. General Claremont won a moderate race last time out with Parsons Pride a well beaten second, and should go well despite his penalty, but he will struggle to get the better of our selection. Bush Park is the other for shortlist and he ran well in defeat behind Wee Danny last time, but he was possibly flattered by his proximity to the winner on that day. General Claremont and Bush Park should both go well, but we will take a chance on Maidstone Monument.
