In depth

Verdict

This is Premiership's first realistic target since arriving on these shores and he could fare better but we think that one of Jades Double, Ballybough Jack and Running Hot will emerge victorious; the latter is selected. Master T has done all his winning on better ground, Alderbrook Girl struggling for form and Premiership plenty to prove so they're passed over. Ballybough Jack ran better than the bare facts suggest at Kempton but he may ideally be better suited by a stiffer test even allowing for the stamina sapping conditions. Jades Double showed a game attitude to score last time as she appeared to be struggling at one stage; she's only 3lbs higher and should be in the firing line if able to dig deep again. The selection is a regular over this course and distance and hasn't run too badly at different venues the last twice. He didn't quite get home over 3 miles at Taunton before finding the ground riding too fast at Lingfield. He's got everything in his favour this afternoon and Running Hot can make the most of it and prove too strong.
