Verdict

ROYAL VACATION carries a double penalty having won a decent Class 2 handicap at Taunton last time. He should have the measure of novice hurdle winner King Cool, who looked likely to make the frame when falling at the last at Lingfield last time. Point-to-point winner Whipcord makes his debut under Rules for Paul Nicholls and is one to keep an eye on while bumper winner Champagne George did not fare too badly when third here on his hurdling bow in January.
