In depth

Verdict

Thalys comes in to the race in tremendous heart and is taken to add to his recent Southwell success while Blakeney Coast and Andrew Doble rate the chief dangers. Heathor Dalton's gelding took full advantage of a most lenient mark when running out an impressive eight-length winner at the Nottinghamshire venue and looks capable of defying a subsequent 8lb rise, particularly as the step up in trip should suit ideally. Blakeney Coast has proved disappointing since scoring at Wetherby in May but is back on a handy mark and shouldn't be written off while Andrew Doble has to prove he is as effective over fences as he is over timber after a lacklustre effort at Bangor last time out.
