In depth

Verdict

Acosta ended a long losing run when successful at Taunton last week and should go well again despite his penalty, while Saulty Max, who is without a win in seven starts over timber but has been in better form of late, cannot be discounted. However, BLAZING EMPRESS gets the nod. She is one of the least exposed in this field and gave the impression there was more to come when runner-up to Jordan on her recent handicap debut. Brunette'sonly looked like claiming a place when unseating her rider at Hereford last time and could prove best of the rest.
