In depth

Verdict

The lightly-raced Spiritofthenorth went close to losing his maiden tag at Ayr and was racing in better company at Beverley next time. Wightman scored at Salisbury early last month and ran twice again within eight days from the same mark but was unable to take advantage. NOBLE DAWN landed a novices' event at Wolverhampton in December and didn't reappear until August when mid-division over 1m2f at Sandown. She should improve for that run and gets the nod as Ascot Week was beaten in a seller last time and Yukon was beaten 12 lengths into third at Hamilton.
