Verdict

Powerful Newmarket yards have made successful raids on this contest a few times in recent years and two are represented today. John Gosden's Rain Mac may have disappointed last time, but he has claims on his earlier third at York and should appreciate the longer trip. However, Luca Cumani sends ISOBAR, who faded in the closing stages of his belated seasonal debut at HQ, but is expected to keep going all the way to the line on this occasion. Lucky Windmill is upped in class after scoring at Hamilton, but Trip The Light and Hong Kong Island have solid claims on the back of placed efforts in similar company. Stagecoach Deman looks best of the rest.
