      Verdict

      Few will want to oppose Qabas who will be a short price to oblige, with Hip Hop Harry and Commander Flip expected to fight it out for second place. Qabas shaped with immense promise when second at Yarmouth on his return, but has failed to build on that effort. The gradual step up in trip has seen him run quite well against useful opposition, including the ill-fated Hawk Flyer at Doncaster in June, and although turned over at Bath, he is still very much the one to beat. Hip Hop Harry was the lesser fancied of Ed Dunlop's pair when third on his Newcastle debut, creating a favourable impression and will not be long in losing his maiden tag, while Commander Flip improved markedly when upped to a mile at Leicester and will be staying on at the finish. Qabas is hard to get away from though and is an obvious choice.
