Mister Fips and Aaim For Applause are both exposed so whilst we acknowledge that they are the ones to beat, we will side with Bryan Smart's newcomer Captain Macarry. The selection represents a stable who have done really well with their juveniles this year and this son of Captain Rio could upset the applecart here. The market should help tell the story of his chances, however if he is friendless in the betting then it may be wise to side with Mister Fips. Jane Chapple-Hyam's colt has the best form on offer here having been beaten only two lengths in the Windsor Castle. He only bumped into one too good next time out and a repeat of that run should be enough to score unless the newcomers are anything special. Aaim For Applause is one for the placepot but continues to frustrate by finding at least one too good. Glenveagh should improve for his debut effort when shaping with some promise, whilst Richard Whitaker has his horses in good form and Rio Sands should be respected. However we will side with Captain Macarry to make a winning debut.
