In depth

Verdict

Walter Swinburn obviously holds the key to this with three of the seven runners set to represent him; the best of which may be Phoebe Woodstock, who gets a narrow verdict here. Gems Of Araby looks the biggest threat from the remainder and this daughter of Zafonic has to be given the utmost respect. The form of her Goodwood maiden was given a solid boost at the Royal Meeting at York and it may be prudent to factor in a saver option with her in the prices permit a further play. Connotation - an expensive Godolphin purchase - will no doubt attract the interest of the 'Frankie fan club' and she is respected as a potential improver. However, she is obviously nothing out of the ordinary and may just help to make the market for us. Phoebe Woodstock is from a family that served Peter Harris well before he handed over control of his operation to Swinburn. And this Grand Lodge filly looks the pick of the bunch that make the journey up from their Buckinghamshire yard today.
