Verdict

Lucky Story can add to his recent Ayr success in a race named after that prolific winner of the seventies, Spindrifter, and without for a second thinking that he can emulate Sir Mark Prescott's legend, he should follow up against Times Review and Under My Spell. Lucky Story may have only won what was a weak maiden at the Scottish track but it was the manner of his victory that caught the eye. relishing the faster conditions than he had encountered on his first visit to Ayr, he simply powered away without being asked a serious question and will have improved again for that. Times Review is going the right way and he too carries a penalty for his narrow win over Mick Channon's Imprint at Newcastle. The extra furlong will not come amiss but he does not look as scopey as Mark Johnston's runner. Kieren Fallon rides Under My Spell who has taken on very good company, notably in the National Stakes at Sandown and more recently when third to Milk It Mick at Salisbury. On that form he should go close, but not close enough to stop Lucky Story.
