In depth

Verdict

Waitnsee looked to have a chance in the 4.50 yesterday so that result should be monitored. J P McManus has five entries and Mark Walsh is on board Ten Ten, who came here on Wednesday in fine form but refused to race. Henry De Bromhead has won the last two of these and though Myth Buster arrives in winning form Rachael Blackmore rides Popong, who has some smart form in novice company but takes a huge step-up in trip. Anthony Honeyball had a winner here on Thursday so Grade 2 winner Sam Brown is greatly respected while Simon Torrens, who rode the stable's winner that day, is on board SCOIR MEAR who beat Ten Ten at Naas before a fair run in the Irish National. He gets the nod though Fag An Bealach creeps into the handicap after going up 10lb for a very easy victory in the Ulster National at Downpatrick.
