A huge turnout for this big-race qualifier and it looks wide-open. Gordon Elliott is responsible for a quarter of the entries and his CARRIG CATHAL is expected to benefit from the step up to 3m and Chris Timmons’ claim, though will need to jump better than he did when chasing a four-timer at Limerick. Glenloe, one of three running in the JP McManus’ colours, and Sutton Manor are also worth considering among the Elliott legions while Isleofhopendreams could run well, despite racing from out of the handicap. His yard also run The Crafty Butcher and Exactoris and Oscar Sam arrive off the back of respective recent victories at Leopardstown. Presenting Percy is another to consider.
