Verdict

Ronava shot up the weights after scoring at Wexford in July but he defied the extra in impressive style at Galway and has gone up another 10lb. Balkinstown, who finished runner-up in that latter event, is up 5lb and, as that was his first sign of ability, could improve enough to reverse the form. Winning bumper Celtic Abbey has yet to score over hurdles but should be doing soon on the form shown in his two latest starts. Molly Connors had looked a certain future winner during the summer and was an odds-on chance for a Roscommon maiden in August but she fluffed her lines and weakened quickly after attempting to make all. DAIGREEN has won three of his last four in-between a moderate run behind Ronava at Galway where he was held up off the pace. With more forcing tactics likely he can continue his momentum and take this. Whipper's Boy had shown very little since arriving from Brian Meehan's yard before a comfortable success at Wexford though his jumping remains a concern. Hurricane Sky looks poorly handicapped on what he's achieved so far but the ground is the key and if it turns heavy he could spring a surprise.
