Verdict

Catalaunian Fields looked progressive over hurdles when slamming his rivals at Bellewstown last August and there was something amiss when he was beaten a distance at Listowel the following month. Crest made a winning start over timber in March before failing to fire in a Grade 2 but his pedigree suggests chasing will be his game. DISKO, runner-up in the championship bumper here last year, did well enough over hurdles to be entered in the Grade 1 Champion Novice Hurdle at this year's Festival here and ran well for a long way behind Jer's Girl. He's another bred for the bigger obstacles and can make a successful start. Last Goodbye won a bumper last September and followed with three victories over hurdles before failing in a tough handicap here in April. He's related to a couple of winning chasers so is another who should be suited by the bigger obstacles as should Three Wise Men, who has only been biding his time over hurdles but still managed to beat a big field of maidens at Fairyhouse.
