A huge field of maidens though few with realistic chances. PERSIA, twice a winner on the Flat for Aidan O'Brien, made a very promising start over timber for Joseph in January, staying on nicely behind Coltor on testing ground at Naas. He's had a nice break and this looks a good opportunity. His former stable companion Colfer Me, who has some experience over hurdles, once reached a mark of 90 on the Flat but has hardly beaten a horse home in his last five starts. Purdey's Gift won on the Flat at Wolverhampton and only just failed to concede Light Brigade 8lb in a Fairyhouse maiden hurdle though was well beaten back on the level at Navan last month.
