        Verdict

Royal Welcome has failed to build on an earlier second over track and trip though is weighted to beat Shaqwar on these terms. The latter drops back down in distance sporting first-time headgear having finished third over today’s trip at Thirsk on her penultimate start. Sorbonne was sent off favourite at Catterick for his debut but was beaten by a horse rated only 55 while Gleniffer debuted in a tougher race at Doncaster and is upped in trip today. Farzeen can only improve but HIGH GLOSS is a half-sister to three winners including Group 2 winner Silk Sari and a chance is taken James Fanshawe’s newcomer is good enough to make a winning start.
