Verdict

Richard Hannon has made his usual bright start to the campaign with his juveniles and Top Spec will have his supporters to add to the tally. The son of Spectrum cost 25,000gns as a yearling and is related to numerous winners in Germany and Greece so looks sure to give a good account. Shank On Fourteen was a beaten favourite on his debut in an ordinary event at Musselburgh last week but showed plenty of pace and is entitled to improve while both Lavish Times and Gameset'N'Match are others who will be sharper for their initial start and shouldn't be underestimated. Tim Easterby saddles an interesting newcomer in the shape of Billy Whip Top, who comes from the family of smart sprint mare Poker Chip, and should be noted in the exchanges.
