Verdict

Three of John Gosden's four winners at the track in the past five seasons have been at this age level, and he looks to have found another one in Legal Eagle, who can defy top weight to score. The selection handles any ground, which, with the going likely to change before racing tonight, is a distinct positive. He ran creditably on fast ground at Chester last time and he will be plenty straight enough to do himself justice here. Mission Impossible also acts with cut and was only just held over this trip at Leicester last time out. He has a stone pull with the selection in terms of actual racing weight here, so he can't be ruled out. Rio Sands is another adaptable sort as far as the ground is concerned and Richard Whitaker's charge won his maiden at Musselburgh last time. Up just 3lbs as a result there may still be more to come. Michael Bell saddles dual fibresand winner Great Charm and he showed a fair bit of speed when dropped back to this trip at Hamilton last time. He is an improving sort and a definite danger. Storey Hill races on turf for the first time and his winning form on the polytrack suggests that if the rains do come he won't be favoured by the ground. Incomparable is interesting again now blinkered for the first time but preference here is for Legal Eagle.
