Verdict

ALMAGEST beat Rosairlie by a head in this 12 months ago and is 5lb better off with the runner-up. He went on to score off today's mark at Beverley and a return to winning ways might be on the cards, though he will have to reverse Catterick running last month with Sir Frank Morgan and Dr Irv. Deepsand only found Nanton too good at Doncaster last month and is obviously on a decent mark while Nashville is back in the right grade and should be thereabouts again. Richard Fahey's stayer looks a better bet than the hard-to-place Perennial.
