Verdict

None of today's field have won in this grade before and it could pay to take a chance on the unexposed ENGLISH SUMMER. A winner in the French provinces for Andre Fabre, he joined Mark Johnston in February and the son of Montjeu has lots of scope for improvement. Stablemate and recent Polytrack winner Exemplary carries his owner's second colours, while Porgy and Montparnasse represent the same owner for different yards but are both stepping up in class here. Paul Hanagan takes over the reins on Deauville Flyer who showed good progress last term and has every chance, but Halla San could only manage third in this race last season so Newmarket winner My Arch looks a bigger threat.
