Several look to have claims in a low-key finale. Jan Smuts is unlikely to be far away again and, likewise, La Bacouetteuse. Catterick winner Silver Shuffle also goes on the short-list while the maiden Noble Reach has been placed in her last four starts. Generous Dream is a course and distance winner but was beaten in a seller last time at Beverley. Joe Doyle has been in the saddle for two of MIDNIGHT WARRIOR's three wins and is reunited with Ron Barr's charge here. This will be his first try over 2m but he should be in the firing-line if lasting home. Cavalieri has dropped 10lb since the start of the year and could be interesting if anywhere near his best.
