    Verdict

The normally consistent Spinatrix ran a rare bad race at Doncaster last time but in much better company than this and Dutch Rose was nowhere near her best on her reappearance at Kempton. MISPLACED FORTUNE fared much better on her comeback at Pontefract and considering she won this race last year, Nigel Tinkler's mare gets the tentative vote. However, there are dangers abound among those making their seasonal debuts. Athenian hasn't raced since July but was a progressive sprinter last season and Hoodna ended the year with a third in Listed company at Newmarket. Body And Soul matured into a reliable filly last season and is another who could figure on her return to action.
