The lady riders take to the stage today in this enthralling Ladies Derby and Miss Emily Jones can arise victorious on Mark Brisbourne's Prelude. Atlantic gamble and Richtee make it to the shortlist. A game winner just nine days, a 6lb penalty for that success may not be enough to stop the horse winning again. The mare has form on soft ground although she did disappoint when she last encountered ground with some give in. She has winning course form and is capable of another big run here. Richtee is a course and distance winner and having recovered from her very serious injury, last-year's leading lady amateur Serena Brotherton will be hoping to get back on the winning trail. However he was well-held behind the selection last time out. Alsadaa and Patavium both warrant respect, whilst Gardasee should strip fitter for his reappearance run. Atlantic Gamble ran up a sequence on the all-weather in the spring but he returns to the turf on a winnable mark, whilst at a price Grey Samurai could go well for last-year's winning trainer Bryan Ellison. A toughie for punters, however recent winner Prelude gets the nod.
