      Verdict

A modest event and stakes should be kept low but Border Artist is given a tentative vote over Friday's Takings, Duraid and Ballyhurry. Trained by David Nicholls, Border Artist is well treated on the pick of his old form and, after a couple of promising efforts both on turf and the all-weather, he may be ready to strike particularly as he shapes as though the step up to a mile will suit. Ballyhurry was a narrow winner from Friday's Takings when the pair clashed at Musselburgh earlier in the month. Jim Goldie's charge has been raised 3lb since but may be able to confirm the placings as the runner-up had a fitness advantage last time. Duraid is well in to the veteran stage of his racing career and is not the force he once was so is probably best watched on his return following an absence of nine months.
