In depth

Verdict

A competitive apprentices’ handicap with both Dodgy Bob and Penny Pot Lane arriving in peak form. The latter is better suited by today’s underfoot conditions and is particularly effective here so probably has the better chance of the hat-trick with the former poorly drawn. But Sebastian Woods, who rode her at Pontefract last time, switches here to ROYAL CONNOISSEUR. Placed twice recently in better company, Richard Fahey’s six-year-old has dropped to a decent mark and can’t complain about a berth in stall 10. B Fifty Two is another looking well treated nowadays but he’s not the force of old and Burtonwood and Cliff are probably more interesting for each-way purposes.
