Verdict

Grade 2 winning hurdler Owega Star has started favourite on both starts over fences but disappointed at Clonmel in June. He had a run on the Flat at Galway last week and is expected to do better. Saint Gervais made a promising start over fences behind Rebel Fitz at Killarney and will have learnt plenty from that and Sir Vincent is another with just one encouraging effort over the bigger obstacles behind him. The latter was behind SHAKE THE BUCKET when they occupied the places behind Sizing Symphony at Tipperary and it's Boots Madden's charge, who was only beaten half-a-length, who can go one better. Caolaneoin has so far promised more than he's produced but he has plenty of potential so looks one to keep an eye on.
