Verdict

LASKARI won with plenty in hand when successful at Kempton last month, being good value for his nine length defeat of Sir Bathwick, and he is taken to defy the 7lb penalty for that success, getting the verdict ahead of another last time out winner Jim Bobs Girl and Pass Me A Dime. The last mentioned was well held on his reappearance run but ran better at Exeter last time and with Colin Tizzard's runners in good form at present, he has to be respected. Emma Lavelle's Presenting Express lacks a recent run but the yard has their runners in good heart at present so that may not be too much of a problem for a gelding that has dropped back to a winning mark. He has not shown good from for some time though and is probably best watched, while Peter Winkworth's Sheriff Roscoe needs to improve on the form shown on his reappearance to trouble the judge. Alison Thorpe's Jim Bobs Girl won well enough at Newbury last week and has claims under his penalty but more solid claims are held by Laskari, who gets the vote.
