Verdict

SHANROE SANTOS has twice failed to complete over course and distance this season but found his way back to the winner’s enclosure at Carlisle last time in impressive fashion and gets a chance to follow up that victory. Tanit River held off Aubusson here last month and is only 5lb higher so shouldn’t be far away. Horatio Hornblower won at Newbury in January but then only beat one home at Ludlow. Fourth Act is well enough treated and capable when in the mood and a similar comment applies to veteran Pete The Feat, who runs his best races around here, but Local Show and Topper Thornton arrive out of sorts.
