Verdict

A huge field for the day’s feature and most would have some sort of chance, though the Nicholls pair Miranda and Samarrive look weighted to the hilt and stablemate Hacker Des Places looks to have stronger claims on his recent win at Chepstow. Mr Grey Sky is on an upward curve and 2-3 in handicaps while the mare Current Mood is proving a money-spinner for Evan Williams. Onemorefortheroad has already had a productive season and is only a pound higher than when second in this grade at Ascot while big fields don’t faze Lively Citizen. CALICO is 7lb lower than when a close fourth in a Grade 2 at Ayr less than a year ago. A second at Lingfield in December has worked out well and Tristan Durrell is good value for his 7lb claim so he could go well at a price in a race like this with Up For Parol, who stays further, also interesting given the pace is likely to be unrelenting. Balco Coastal has developed into a decent novice and is still improving so much respected, despite his yard’s indifferent form, with fellow novice Kihavah another worth a second look as his latest win at Musselburgh has been franked. Monviel displays a willing attitude and has already won here so can’t be ignored but Hystery Bere doesn’t look straightforward.
